Community Engagement
Growing Vibrant Communities seeks to engage communities in achieving easily-attainable community beautification goals as a starting point for whole communities, a portion of a community, garden clubs, downtown districts, Main Street organizations, and more. Through volunteer leadership and community engagement, your team will work toward enhancement goals across seven criteria of self-assessment: community vitality, flowers, landscaped areas, urban forestry, environmental efforts, celebrating heritage, and overall impression.
Each year your community enters the Growing Vibrant Communities program, you will receive proven tips on where to begin and whom to recruit, educational resources, and coaching support from America in Bloom®.
No Registration Deadlines
The Growing Vibrant Communities program is a year-round program with no registration deadlines. Communities have up to one year to complete and submit their Self-Assessment. A designated Growing Vibrant Communities Advisor will be assigned to help guide each community by reviewing what is in place and recommending enhancements. Communities who participate and generate significant enthusiasm in their community are encouraged to grow further by entering the prestigious America in Bloom National Awards Program.
